Nest Labs, the Google-owned company responsible for the popular, has acquired , the company announced today. The move comes four months after a , and less than a year after .
Based out of Boulder, Colo., Revolv's hub is a networking device for smart gadgetry, and a would-be platform for the connected home. With multiple wireless radios built right in, Revolv aims to talk to every connected thing in your home, uniting it all within a single interface.
At least, it did. Nest tells us they plan on discontinuing Revolv, and folding the team behind it into. "Their experience connecting devices around the home will help us continue to grow Works with Nest and bring the conscious home to life," explains Matt Rogers, Nest's founder and Head of Engineering.
In addition to buying out Revolv, Nest announced, including the , the , , and . With the "Works with Nest" initiative continuing to expand the learning thermostat's ecosystem, expect the Revolv team to be put to good use.
