One of the criticisms levied at "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was its dark tone and humourlessness.

That won't be the case for "Powerless", a new comedy series from DC Comics and Warner Bros. that NBC has picked up a pilot for.

"Powerless" stars Vanessa Hudgens as an insurance agent who deals with damaged caused by crime-fighting superheroes. Alan Tudyk, known for his role in "Firefly", will play her boss. "Community" star Danny Pudi also features.

It's said that the series will feature appearances from lesser-known DC comic book heroes, something that aficionados will surely appreciate.
