Nanochip lands Intel investment

Nanochip says the chipmaker is a lead investor in its third round of venture funding.

Nanochip announced on Tuesday that Intel Capital is a lead investor in its third round of venture funding. Intel, along with previous investor JK&B Capital, contributed a total of $10 million toward the company's $15 million round.

Nanochip, based in Fremont, Calif., develops high-capacity MEMS-based storage chips for the consumer electronics market. Nanochip's technology is designed to store tens of gigabytes per chip via nanoprobe array technology.
