MP3.com promotes executive as COO

Digital music company MP3.com says it has appointed Derrick Oien as senior vice president and chief operating officer. Oien, who was formerly the company's vice president of operations, will manage MP3.com's daily operations. He will report to President Robin Richards, who had been acting as COO before Oien's promotion. Before joining MP3.com in 1999, Oien worked with Sony Picture Studios and Universal Music Group.
