Motorola to cut 4,000 jobs

Mobile phone maker had earlier said it would cut 3,500 jobs by June 30 as part restructuring plan to lower costs.

Motorola said it expects to cut an additional 4,000 jobs as it continues to lower costs.

The world's No.2 mobile phone maker said it expects to record additional restructuring charges of about $300 million, or about 8 cents per share, over the rest of 2007. The company had earlier said it would cut 3,500 jobs by June 30.
