The Moto X is but one model expecting Android 4.4 KitKat. Motorola

Verizon might be first out of the gate with its Android 4.4 update, but that doesn't mean Motorola is planning to pump the brakes any time soon. On the contrary, the hardware maker has quietly expanded its database to show no fewer than a dozen smartphones expecting the KitKat treatment.

If you swing by Motorola's software upgrade page today and go through the effort of methodically selecting carriers from the drop-down menu, you'll find that there are at least six more devices across multiple carriers that will receive an Android 4.4 update.

Motorola, for its part, had already promised KitKat for 2013's Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini smartphones, but it looks like many other phones will join its ranks, phones from as far back as 2012.

Here's the whole set of Motorola smartphones that will get Android 4.4 KitKat:

  • Moto X (all carriers)
  • Moto X Developer Edition
  • Atrix HD (AT&T)
  • Electrify M (U.S. Cellular)
  • Droid Ultra (Verizon)
  • Droid Maxx (Verizon)
  • Droid Mini (Verizon)
  • Droid Razr HD (Verizon)
  • Droid Maxx HD (Verizon)
  • Droid Razr M (Verizon)
  • Droid Razr M Developer Edition
  • Droid Razr HD Developer Edition

Even though Motorola hasn't officially rounded up this entire group in a blog post, based on this update page, we can hope for an official announcement soon. I'm guessing that Motorola will begin its updates with its most recent phones and work its way back to older models.
