Continuing our coverage of a problem with iDVD 4.0.1's slide show audio accompaniment where there is a slight pause when a transition is used between photos, it now appears even more likely that the problem is relegated to certain DVD drive models.

Carmen Kubo writes "I am experiencing the same audio problem with slide show using iDVD 4.01. I have the following drive: PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104 [Ed.- this is the same Pioneer drive used in some PowerMac G4 and G4 iMac models.]

Roland G writes "I have the iDVD slide show audio problem on my KLH-8350 DVD player. This player has no other issues with any DVD I've thrown at it, an otherwise very reliable player."

Another reader: "On an Apex DVD player there's audio gaps during sideshows, so if you're playing music, it's very annoying; but on an Electrohome EH-8181a, the playback audio is fine, but then as each slide goes by, the photo stills 'jumps' one by one very slightly. On other players, neither of these glitches show up.

And another "My DVD player is a Memorex. It is a model that handles all media, such as CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 CD and the like. I will have to try another player."

Meanwhile, Paul Purves reports another audio issue with his PowerBook's built-in SuperDrive:

"I am using a Aluminum Powerbook 1.25 GHz, OS 10.3.3, iLife'04, internal Superdrive. After creating an iMovie project, with video clips at the front and a slide show at the end, I created an iDVD project by hitting the iDVD button within iMovie. All played perfectly in iMovie BUT THEN I burned the DVD.

"When I played my DVD on my DVD player to my TV, the Audio was actually ahead of the video by a half a second or so."
