MIT's Materiable platform can mimic sand, rubber, water and more (Tomorrow Daily 362)

A field of 3D-printed blocks can be programmed to act like various design materials; also, a hobbyist creates an electromagnetic gauntlet for a Captain America replica shield.

We're always interested in what MIT has cooking, and this time, its Tangible Media Lab unveiled a platform made of 3D-printed blocks called Materiable that can take on the properties of various design mediums when touched.

Also, we love this electromagnet-enhanced Captain America gauntlet/shield combo The Hacksmith put together. It can't reattach itself to him from across the room, but it's still impressive.
