Microsoft ups rebate on Money 99

In honor of tax season, the company is offering a new promotion for users of its personal finance software.

Microsoft is offering a new promotion for customers of its Money 99 software in honor of the 1999 tax season, the company has announced.

Starting January 1, customers purchasing Microsoft's Money 99 personal finance software, along with selected tax software, have been receiving a mail-in coupon good for double the typical rebate amount on Money 99. The promotion runs through March 31.

For instance, customers who purchase Money 99, along with either Kiplinger's Financial Suite or Intuit's TurboTax, receive a coupon for $20 off the price of Money 99 Basic, instead of $10.

Money 99 personal finance software includes a tax deduction finder, tax worksheet, tax exchange format, and tax calculators, Microsoft said, but does not include tax forms. The promotion is aimed at assisting first-time Money 99 users.

Money 99 Basic retails for $34.95, Money 99 Financial Suite retails for $64.95, and Money 99 Personal and Business version is priced at $84.95.
