Microsoft taps IBM veteran to head Windows marketing

As expected, IBM veteran Cliff Reeves has joined Microsoft as vice president of marketing for Windows .Net Server Marketing. Reeves, who worked for IBM and Lotus for 30 years, had retired from Lotus in January. He will lead marketing efforts for Windows 2000 Server, Systems Management Server, Terminal Services and the forthcoming Microsoft Operations Manager. Reeves replaced Jim Ewel, the former vice president of Windows marketing, who left the company in January.
