Microsoft making add-ons for BizTalk

Microsoft is building add-on products for BizTalk Server 2000, the company's software for linking different computing systems to exchange data and conduct business over the Web. Microsoft on Tuesday announced plans to release this summer an add-on that supports RosettaNet, an XML-based standard that allows tech companies to exchange information among suppliers, manufacturers and buyers. XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a Web standard for data exchange. Microsoft is building the add-ons--the company is calling them "Biztalk Server Accelerators"--which support XML standards for different industries, such as health care, executives said.
