Microsoft has launched a new site pitting its Windows tablets against Apple's iPad, in a head-to-head spec showdown, The Verge reports. And wouldn't you know, Microsoft's slates come out on top most of the time.
As well as the Microsoft Surface RT, you can compare the , , and with . The categories include thinness, battery life, weight, display size, and more. The iPad suffers when it comes to screen size and connectivity options, but there's no mention of how many apps are available on iOS versus -- because there's way more.
The fact the Windows tablets come with Microsoft Office is also given as a boon, but there's no mention of alternatives on the iPad. (Or that ahas been rumoured for quite some time now.)
The site is part of a push by Microsoft to flog more tablets, with the Swing and a miss.(aka Windows Blue) update on the way. Though it might want to focus more on responding to than slamming rivals. It recently took the mickey out of the in an advert, with a Siri-style voice highlighting the mini's many shortcomings. Just like on the tablet comparison site, Microsoft took a dig at Apple's pricing as well. Except here in the UK, the Surface Pro starts at the same price as the standard iPad.
Microsoft used similar tactics four years ago when it launched Windows 7. More recently, Galaxy S3 against the newly announced iPhone 5, but again, it conveniently missed a few. Samsung has kept up its assault on Apple in too.of its then flagship
