Microsoft cancels November Windows Vista CTP

Microsoft cancels November Windows Vista CTP

In a conference call to the media, Microsoft announced today that there will be no Windows Vista CTP for November. The software giant said that, going forward, it plans to shift the development focus to a quality-based schedule, rather than be held to a specific calendar date. A developer's version of Vista (build 5259) has been leaked on the Internet, but testers expecting code in November should instead look to December. Microsoft says the next CTP will be issued before the holidays and will include many features that will be available in the upcoming beta 2, expected early in 2006.
