Microsoft, BET form interactive venture

Microsoft and Black Entertainment Television today announced that they will form a company that will focus on interactive entertainment and information.

Microsoft and Black Entertainment Television (BET) today announced that they are in the process of forming a company that will deliver interactive entertainment and information.

The company will produce interactive television, online content, and CD-ROM titles. Initially, the programming will be available on Microsoft Network and will include music, arts and entertainment, public affairs, and merchandising aimed at the African-American community, according to officials.

The company will be equally owned by Microsoft and BET, and will be managed from BET headquarters in Washington, D.C.
