MicronPC has announced it is changing its name to MPC. The PC manufacturer, which sells computers directly to customers, plans to complete the name shift by mid-2003. The MPC name better reflects the PC maker's status as a separate business entity from its one-time parent, memory maker Micron Technology, according to the company. MicronPC was formed in June 2001 after Gores Technology Group the assets of Micron Technology's PC business.

MicronPC sells desktop and notebook PCs to government, small-business and education customers as well as to consumers.
