MGI claims lead in photo-editing software

MGI claimed the lead in retail photo-editing software sales for 2000, also announcing it has shipped the 35 millionth copy of PhotoSuite. PhotoSuite took the top spot in units and revenue, with 38 percent and 33 percent market share, respectively, according to PC Data. The Toronto-based company's success with PhotoSuite comes from bundling arrangements and retail sales. Compaq Computer and Dell Computer, for example, are among the major PC makers offering PhotoSuite with consumer systems.
