MetroPCS offers up a promotional rate plan with unlimited LTE data. MetroPCS

MetroPCS on Wednesday introduced a promotional rate plan that gives subscribers unlimited talk, text, and 4G LTE data for $50 per month. Available immediately, the limited-time deal does come with a couple of hoops to jump through.

For starters, customers must take advantage of the promo before April 5. Once signed up, however, the rate plan is good indefinitely.

The next catch? You'll have to purchase a 4G LTE-ready smartphone from MetroPCS. You do not need to buy a new device to be eligible for the $50 promotion, however the phone must have originally been purchased from the carrier.

To sweeten the deal, MetroPCS is offering the Samsung Galaxy Light for $50 and the LG Optimus F60 for $60 -- both entry-level models equipped with Android and basic hardware.

In addition to the promotional rate plan, MetroPCS is adding an extra 1GB of data to its existing options. The $40 plan now comes with 2GB while the $50 plan is bumped to 4GB high-speed data per month. Both include unlimited talk and text and can be paired with existing smartphones.
