Metastorm on Thursday released version 6 of its e-Work software, which builds corporate applications that automate complex business processes.

Metastorm is one of many companies that sell so-called business process management software, which integrates existing systems with new application development and work-flow capabilities. The company introduced improvements to the collaborative application development features in e-Work as well as administration tools for monitoring the progression of business processes. Customers can also use Web services standards to integrate disparate systems with the upgrade.
