McAfee on Monday announced special incentives, including free installation, training and support, for customers who switch from Internet Security Systems,. "We're hearing from customers that they are concerned that their level of security will decrease following IBM's acquisition of ISS," Chris Kenworthy, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at McAfee, said in a statement.
IBM responded, saying that McAfee's offers are based on price, versus providing the customers the right products. "Just like choosing a surgeon, when it comes to securing critical business infrastructure, cheap is not always the best choice," a representative for IBM ISS said in a statement. ISS builds network protection products and services, including intrusion detection and monitoring tools.
