Maxis Offers Free Theme Pack on New Site

Maxis, the software company that makes SimCity 2000, is celebrating the official launch of its new Web site with a free offer.

Starting tomorrow, Maxis site visitors can download a free copy of the SimCity 2000 Windows 95 theme pack after signing the company's guest book.

The theme pack includes a Mad Zoner screensaver and SimCity 2000 wallpaper, icons, and sounds. It is available for download on the Maxis Web site only during December. Other features of the new site include information and demos of upcoming releases, a section for teachers, and a pinball quiz that enters players in a drawing for free software.

The company also plans to offer online shopping early next year in the Maxis store.
