MarketMile signs new customers

MarketMile signed two new customers for its hosted purchasing system and online marketplace for midsize businesses, the company said Thursday. Sippican, a defense contractor in Massachusetts, and AMS Services, a maker of software for insurance brokers in Connecticut, have signed up with MarketMile to automate and track the purchase of office products, computers and other business supplies via the Web. MarketMile, founded by American Express in 2000, also negotiates discounted pricing on behalf of customers.
