"Suicide Squad" gathered together a rogues' gallery of DC Comics' bad guys. But now sisters are doin' it for themselves.
Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn from "Suicide Squad") and David Ayer, that film's director, are teaming up again for "Gotham City Sirens," a planned feature about the top female villains of the DC Universe, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ayer will direct and produce, and Robbie will again play Harley Quinn, and also executive-produce, the report says. Geneva Robertson-Dworet will write the screenplay.
"Suicide Squad" received mixed reviews but still earned $745 million worldwide, and Harley Quinn was its breakout character.
The Gotham City Sirens comic-book series, which ran from 2009-2011, starred not just Harley Quinn, but Catwoman, Poison Ivy and others. No casting other than Robbie was announced, but if we know comics fans, keep an eye on Twitter for some epic fancasting debates to come.
