Two new AV receivers have been announced by Marantz in its premium line-up, including the 4K-ready SR5007 model and a replacement for the award-winning NR1602.
The NR1603 has the same slim-line design as its predecessor, coming in at just slightly over 10cm high. The AVR is Ethernet-enabled and has a variety of network streaming features, including AirPlay. The NR1603 also has six HDMI 1.4 inputs, Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio. The free Marantz Remote App means that the unit can be controlled via an iOS or Android device.
The SR5007, on the other hand, is a full-size 7.2 channel, 100W receiver, still featuring six HDMI ports and including an RS232 port for use in custom installations. The SR5007 is also fully capable of handling 4K resolution video.
Both AVRs are available this month, with the NR1603 retailing for $1080 and the SR5007 for $1320. They'll be joined by two more Marantz units in October of this year.
