Man uses excavator to build Duplo truck

A Finnish excavator operator has used the grapple of his vehicle as a giant robot claw to put together a Duplo dump truck.

When you think of the delicate manoeuvres that are required to click together some building bricks, it doesn't really call to mind heavy construction vehicles. So we're not really sure why the operator of one of these excavators, one Finland-based Juha-Pekka Perämäki, thought to do it -- but we're glad he did.

Although the video title says he is building with Lego, he's actually using Lego's big brother (made by the same company, but bigger bricks for younger players), Duplo. If you think that makes the precision with which he can operate the machine less impressive, you should probably think again.

We found ourselves watching with bated breath -- and then it zoomed out and showed us a point-of-view shot from the excavator's cabin. Some people are utterly, magnificently mad, but we sure are glad they exist.
