A set of teaser images from the makers of the Polaroid-branded Socialmatic camera show a smartphone in the works.

Socialmatic first emerged in 2012 and "started like a joke", according to its designers. Based heavily on the concept of an Instagram camera that could produce real prints, the design created plenty of noise online. Since then, it has been revealed that the square camera will run Android and be branded with the Polaroid name.
Even though the Socialmatic camera hasn't yet seen the light of day and is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2014, its makers have already teased another device dubbed Project Beria. A gallery of images appeared on the company's Facebook page overnight, showing small reveals of a mobile phone with a strong focus on imaging.
Though the company has been coy on specifics thus far, they did reveal to one photography blog that Beria would run Android and come with a 5-inch screen.
Until then we'll have to wait and see if Beria becomes reality, and what imaging specs it has to stand out in a crowded camera phone market.
