Macworld Boston to move to smaller digs
After low turnout at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, IDG World Expo moves the confab to the Hynes Convention Center.
After a in its first year at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the East Coast Macworld Expo is moving to a smaller convention center but is staying in Beantown. Show producers IDG World Expo said Friday that next year's event will take place at the smaller Hynes Convention Center downtown, which will provide a more central and intimate locale.
This year's event drew about 8,000 people, down considerably from the tens of thousands that attended the show in prior years to see keynotes from Mac figureheads such as Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs. Apple had warned IDG that it would pull out when the show moved to Boston, a promise it kept.
