Macromedia to support XScale

Macromedia said Wednesday that it is working to optimize its Flash Player for Intel's XScale architecture; XScale is the next-generation StrongARM architecture. StrongARM is used in devices such as handhelds that use Microsoft's Pocket PC operating system. As a result of the Macromedia-Intel collaboration, people will be able to play Flash-created animation on mobile devices. The optimized code is expected to be available later this year.
