An editor at news site Linux Today has apologized and is seeking a reassignment after admitting to posting remarks under a pseudonym in reader feedback discussion areas. Kevin Reichard, executive editor of Internet.com's Linux Today, "has asked to be re-assigned within the company," Managing Editor Michael Hall said in a note on the site Thursday.
"On reflection, I have to admit that anonymous posting by an editor at a news site was wrong. I stopped months ago and vow to Linux Today readers that I will never engage in the practice again," Reichard said in an apology Wednesday. Former Linux Today columnist Joe Barr raised allegations of the postings in July, and numerous people signed a petition seeking an explanation for the comments, which Reichard said were intended to "foster lively debate."
