Linksys peers into Wi-Fi cameras

Wi-Fi gear maker Linksys introduced on Wednesday a camera that wirelessly connects to a network and a service that allows video from the camera to be more easily accessed over the Internet. Available in the United States now, the $229 Wireless-B Internet Video Camera comes with its own IP (Internet Protocol) address so it can connect to a wireless network. It can also send an e-mail notification when motion is detected.

The camera comes with a 90-day free trial of the service, which costs $20 for a one-year subscription. The SoloLink service allows consumers to create a personalized Web address for a page on which they can view video from the camera.
