LG GD510 Pop: Solar-powered tiny touchscreen phone

The LG GD510 Pop looks to be a teeny-tiny pop star, with a touchscreen, a 3-megapixel camera, an optional solar-charging back and a pay as you go price

If you're craving a touchscreen phone, but can't collect enough bottle tops to cover the iPhone's massive price tag, the LG GD510 Pop could be the fizzy drink you're thirsting for.

The Pop has a 76mm (3-inch) touchscreen and will suit the smallest pocket at only 98 by 50 by 11mm. It sports a 3-megapixel camera and a microSD card pre-stuffed with 8GB of memory, which is a respectable amount of song-storage space for an inexpensive phone.

If you're willing to splash out a little extra, the Pop also supports a back cover with an optional solar-powered charger, although we don't know how much juice it will give you. When we do a full review, we'll be testing whether the Pop's solar cells are a gimmick or a gift.

The petite Pop goes on sale today at the Carphone Warehouse for £100 on pay as you go. We'll update you with the price for the optional solar-powered cover as soon as it's available.
