Lexar launches photo rescue, player

Lexar Media, a leading producer of storage media for digital cameras and others devices, announced new hardware and software products at the Photokina trade show in Germany. The Digital Photo Player is a compact device that connects to a TV set for viewing slide shows of digital images. The unit can read images from CompactFlash and SmartMedia storage cards and is available now for $80.

In October, Lexar will begin selling Image Rescue, a $40 software program designed to recover images accidentally deleted or otherwise lost from Lexar CompactFlash storage cards. "So long as a card is not physically damaged, Image Rescue can identify and retrieve almost any image file," said David Klenske, director of product marketing for Lexar.
