Worried about picking the right profile pic? Tinder's got an algorithm for that.

Tinder

Tinder's putting your photos in a face-off.

The mobile dating app's new feature, Smart Photos, alternates your profile pictures and keeps track of which get more swipes left and which get more swipes right, the company said Thursday.

With that info, Tinder reorders your photos to show your best ones first. Tinder found a 12 percent increase in matches during testing.

"First impressions matter," said Tinder's founder and CEO Sean Rad in a statement. "With Smart Photos, we're empowering users to put their best foot forward when forming new connections by implementing a sophisticated algorithm."

The idea for the Smart Photos algorithm came out of a hackathon earlier in the year. Tinder said the feature will be rolling out to all users in the coming days.
