Legal expert joins open-source screening firm
Open Source Initiative general counsel Larry Rosen is now an advisor to Black Duck Software.
Black Duck Software, a provider of tools to help programmers ensure open-source and proprietary software don't intermingle, plans to announce on Monday that it has secured the services of a prominent lawyer in the field. Larry Rosen, general counsel and secretary of the Open Source Initiative, is now also an advisor to Waltham, Mass.-based Black Duck.
Rosen also is author of "Open Source Licensing: Software Freedom and Intellectual Property Law" and the founding partner of law firm Rosenlaw & Einschlag. "Black Duck's technology and services address a serious issue and solve a real problem for any company developing software," he said in a statement.
