LearnCom to buy assets of TrainSeek.com

Training and educational consulting company LearnCom said Tuesday that it will acquire certain assets of Salt Lake City-based TrainSeek.com, one of the United States' largest e-commerce sites specializing in online learning. TrainSeek Web sites sell more than 1 million products such as training videos, books, CD-ROMs, seminars and consulting services. The deal is the latest example of a brick-and-mortar education company attempting to beef up its online presence by investing in the burgeoning e-learning niche. Bensenville, Ill.-based LearnCom, which focuses on harassment prevention and employment law training, expects to close the TrainSeek deal within 30 days.
