Midtier enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendor Lawson, a longtime IBM partner, today said it has integrated its flagship Insight II Business Management System to work with IBM Net.Commerce software.
Minneapolis-based Lawson's Insight II automates a company's financials, human resources, procurement, supply chain, and performance management. Now, customers can connect their front-end e-commerce applications to their supply chain and back office business systems, simplifying how they do business with customers and suppliers over the Web.
The offering is targeted particularly for wholesale distributors, retailers, and healthcare industry providers who want to build Web applications on the IBM platform.
Integrating Lawson's software with Net.Commerce can help companies reduce overhead related to order processing and inventory tracking, the company said.
Net.Commerce is part of IBM's WebSphere family of application servers and will be branded WebSphere beginning next year.
