Kojima and Del Toro will reunite this month for special presentation
Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are getting back together to give the keynote address at the D.I.C.E. Summit later this month in Las Vegas.
Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are reuniting, but not for a new game, at least not yet. The two men, who worked together on Silent Hills before it fell apart, will provide the keynote address at the 2016 D.I.C.E. Summit later this month in Las Vegas, event organizers announced today.
It surely sounds like a compelling keynote. If last year was any indication, this year's keynote, which takes place on Thursday, February 16, should be broadcast live on Twitch. In addition, Kojima will be inducted into DICE's Hall of Fame at the event.Kojima and del Toro have said they are interested in working together on something new, though no collaborations have been announced since Silent Hills was canceled last year. If they do work together on something, it probably won't be a new Silent Hill -- that franchise belongs to Konami and Kojima no longer works there.
It was also announced today that Fallout 4 game director Todd Howard will be one of the featured speakers for a talk called "The Art of Engagement" later the same day. He will be joined by comedian Pete Holmes, who also returns to host the 19th D.I.C.E. Awards.
Rise of the Tomb Raider leads the way at that awards show with nine nominations, including a nod for Game of the Year.
The annual D.I.C.E. Summit and Awards are organized by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences.
