Eastman Kodak has released two digital cameras with Secure Digital flash memory slots. The $399 EasyShare DX3700 features a resolution of 3.1 megapixels, a 3X digital zoom, a Secure Digital card slot and 8MB of internal memory for additional picture storage. The $199 EasyShare DX3215 offers a resolution of 1.3 megapixels, a 2X optical zoom, a 2X digital zoom, a Secure Digital slot and 8MB of internal memory.
Both cameras are compatible with Kodak's docking system, which automatically uploads pictures to the computer while recharging the camera's battery pack. The cameras incorporate Zoran's Camera-on-a-Chip processor. New DVD players that use Zoran's Vaddis DVD processors will also accept Kodak's Picture CDs, which hold digital images. Over the past several months, Kodak has announced similar deals with DVD player chipmakers such as LSI Logic and ESS Technology.
