KDE Linux desktop nearing release
The second beta of the new version 3 of the KDE Linux desktop user interface was released, the KDE Project said Thursday. The final version is scheduled for release in the second quarter, but in the meantime KDE is seeking large numbers of developers to test the software. The project organizers hope the new version will help programmers translate their software designed to run on KDE 2. Improvements in the most recent beta include support for Handspring Visor synchronization, better scripting and other features in the Web browser, and features to make file management easier in the Konqueror software.
