Juniper Networks and Sonus Networks are putting their heads together. The two upstart communications equipment suppliers signed a joint sales and marketing alliance Wednesday in an effort to spark sales amid a drastic downturn in spending by their carrier customers.
By teaming, the companies believe they have a complete system of hardware and software for the core of carriers' Internet and packet-switched phone networks. Zephion Networks, a Virginia-based communications service provider, said it has installed Juniper and Sonus gear on its nationwide network.
