Juice in the New Year

The Hurom Slow Juicer is a convenient countertop appliance that juices fruits, vegetables and leafy greens.

It's not ham, which is probably a good thing. Amazon

With the refrigerator full of leftovers, it's time to think healthy. It's no coincidence that New Years and the requisite resolutions immediately follow the holidays. While the ham, turkey, and side dishes galore inhabit the shelves (slowly getting eaten) is when your new health-inspiring appliance can be shipped to you. What new health-inspiring appliance? Why, a juicer, of course!

The Hurom Slow Juicer HU-100 is a dual-stage juicer that extracts a maximum amount of juice from fruits and vegetables. Using a single auger design, the juicer first slowly grinds and crushes ingredients, and then follows that step with a second pressing stage. The result is a high yield of juice that leaves very little moisture in the resulting pulp. When finished, simply run water through the machine to clean.

With the capability to process leafy greens and wheatgrass, the countertop appliance makes for a useful all-in-one juice maker always at the ready. Measuring 9.8 inches wide by 6.8 inches long by 15.8 inches tall, the juice maker doesn't take up much room--and leaves plenty of space on the counter for leftovers in case it arrives early. Even though the juicer is capable of creating any type of juice, please refrain from stuffing it with ham. It's hard, I know, but ham juice doesn't qualify as healthy.
