Caution: Minor spoilers ahead.
Last week's epic "Battle of the Bastards" episode of "Game of Thrones" featured some stunning fight scenes, top-notch makeup work, gritty costuming and a satisfying, but bloody script. Hidden among all those high-level production details is one small goof that made it all the way through into the final episode. It involves Jon Snow's fabled sword Longclaw.
Imgur user voicesinmyhead posted a gif last week from a scene where Snow mounts his horse in a hurry. It includes an arrow pointing at Snow's sheathed sword and overlay text reading "Valyrian rubber." What's so funny is how the sword bends and flexes as Snow moves, clearly pointing to the use of a fake rubber sword prop during the sequence.
Longclaw is usually a stout weapon. It's crafted of rare Valyrian steel and can destroy a deadly White Walker on contact. A replica version of the sword weighs 4 pounds (1.8 kilograms), so it's no wonder actor Kit Harington might not want to haul one around on his belt all day long during filming.
