Apple's free streaming radio service will finally be expanding beyond US borders, hitting other English-speaking countries around the globe in 2014, Bloomberg has reported.

Citing "people with knowledge of the situation" who preferred to remain nameless, the news service said that iTunes Radio will manage to beat rival Pandora to the UK market, since the latter has yet to make deals with record labels.

Pandora, which is already available in New Zealand and Australia, currently has 72.1 million listeners, while Spotify, available in 35 countries, has over 24 million. iTunes Radio, which is so far only available in the US, collected 11 million users in its first five days of operation.

Apple told CNET Australia that it could not comment on the Bloomberg report.
