There's only one thing better than finding a bargain on the Apple App Store and that's finding apps that cost you nothing at all.
With 65,000-plus apps on the store eager developers are trying everything at their disposal to have you discover their apps, with many resorting to making their game or tool free for a limited time to garner a bit of word of mouth. You can spend hours searching through the App Store's Top Free section trying to find these gems, or you can let someone do all the hard work for you. Two excellent resources we've discovered will deliver the latest free apps directly to your hungry eyes, either by RSS or a dedicated Twitter account.
148Apps is an iPhone app review site that lists, amongst other things, recent price drops on the App Store. To save you the hassle of having to actually visit the site for regular updates, 148Apps tweets the latest price drops, indicating which apps have made the glorious transition from paid to free.
If waiting for tweets isn't immediate enough for your insatiable app-etite, you can zoom on over to FreeAppAlert.com for a more comprehensive list of the apps that have shrugged off the curse of cost. Taking a look at the site today we found nearly 20 apps waiting to be downloaded for free, with an archive of many, many more. The only downside to this mouth-watering list is the lack of reviews for each app. It's still up to you to download the app and see if it deserves a place on your iPhone. If you want to receive regular updates follow this link to subscribe to the RSS for FreeAppAlert.
