Apple's iPad Mini might come in a dizzying array of options, according to a new report.
The iPad Mini will ship with four storage options and three connectivity choices, AppleInsider reports. Add that to the white and black models that Apple will ship, and customers will be able to choose from 24 different versions of the company's long-rumored tablet.
According to AppleInsider, the stock-keeping units, or SKUs, are currently being described as P101, P103, P105, and P107. Within those, Apple assigns ratings of "good," "better," and "best." AppleInsider believes that the four SKUs indicate storage options ranging from 8GB to 64GB. The Apple news site also claims that the rankings describe Wi-Fi-only, 3G, and 4G LTE models.
The iPad Mini, if it exists, might just be one of the worst-kept secrets in the technology world right now. For months, rumors have cropped up saying that Apple was working on a new, smaller tablet with a 7.85-inch screen, yet the company has said nothing. (UPDATE: Apple this morning issued a invite to an October 23 event in San Jose, saying only, "We have a little more to show you.")
Apple is reportedly preparing to hold a press event next week to unveil its smaller tablet. The company might also show off a new Mac Mini, though once again, that hasn't been confirmed.
AppleInsider's claim on 24 different iPad Mini versions being unveiled next week follows a report on Sunday that said the company would offer 16 different configurations.
