Intuit hires tax software chief

Intuit has named Tom Allanson as senior vice president of its tax software division. Allanson joined Intuit in September as the designated successor to Larry Wolfe, who is retiring after eight years with the company and 15 years in the electronic tax-preparation business. Prior to joining Intuit, Allanson served as president of GE Capital Colonial Pacific Leasing, which provides equipment leasing to small businesses. In addition to Wolfe's role as senior vice president, he was vice president and general manager of Intuit's Personal Tax Group. Intuit's main tax products are Lacerte and ProSeries for accountants and Quicken TurboTax for consumers.
