Intuit enlists new online bank partners
Intuit has signed up 15 more financial service and banking partners to offer online banking via its Quicken software.
New partners include Mellon Bank, PNC Bank, Republic National Bank of New York, Signet Banking, and Charles Schwab & Co.
A majority of the new partners plan to offer their customers online banking services by April 15, according to Intuit officials.
The electronic banking arena is heating up fast with companies such as Visa International and CheckFree moving quickly to take on Intuit.
Microsoft is also moving to bolster its online banking presence for users of its Money for Windows 95 software. Earlier this week, the Redmond, Washington, company added partnerships with companies including BankAtlantic, Bank of Stockton, Commerce Bank, First Union, Laredo National Bank, and PNC Bank. Microsoft plans to let customers access online banking services via the Web and its own software packages.
