IntelliServ does the surfing for you

Cognisoft announces a server-based intranet application that automatically culls information from Web sites and forwards it to users via email.

In an effort to decrease the time users spend surfing for information, Cognisoft has announced a server-based Intranet application that automatically culls information from Web sites and a variety of other sources and forwards it to users via email.

Called IntelliServ, the application continuously tracks information stored on Web sites, as well as in Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange databases selected through a special scripting language. The software automatically notifies users of changes, additions, or updates to the information via email or pager.

IntelliServ monitors any data source that supports the ODBC data access standard.

The application runs on any TCP/IP network and works with all Web browsers and servers, the company said.

IntelliServ is scheduled to be available for beta testing in November 1996, with general release scheduled for January 1997. Pricing will be announced at the launch.
