Intel updates tuning software

Intel has updated its VTune Performance Analyzer 7.0 and VTune Enterprise Analyzer 2.0 software packages so they dovetail with Microsoft's new Visual Studio .Net 2003 programming tools and Windows Server 2003 operating system, Intel said Wednesday. The two VTune tools are used to get computers to run more efficiently by finding performance bottlenecks. Performance Analyzer is for software running on single computers; Enterprise Analyzer is for applications that use several networked machines.

Microsoft plans to release its new Windows Server 2003 Thursday. VTune Performance Analyzer costs $699; VTune Enterprise Analyzer costs $2,500.
