Intel processes promotions

Intel appoints 11 new vice presidents in various departments at the microprocessor company.

Intel (INTC) today appointed 11 new vice presidents for several departments at the microprocessor company.

Tom Waldrop, a company spokesman, said promotions of this kind occur roughly once a year. The appointments were across the board:

  • After 20 years with Intel, Edwin G. Bauer will become vice president in the Sales and Marketing Group, responsible for customer support.
  • Louis J. Burns has been appointed vice president of Information Technology.
  • Mark A. Christensen will become vice president of the Internet and Communications Group.
  • John E. Davies has been appointed vice president of the Desktop Products Group.
  • Luther G. Disney will become vice president of Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group.
  • Edward D. Ekstrom has been appointed vice president of Internet and Communications Group.
  • Appointed vice president in Intel's Content Group is Claude M. Leglise.
  • Appointed vice president of the company's Technology and Manufacturing Group is Bruce H. Leising.
  • Patricia Murray, the only woman promoted, was appointed vice president of human resources in November.
  • William A. Swope has been appointed vice president of the Desktop Products Group.
  • James H. Yasso will be another vice president of the Desktop Products Group.
