InfoSpace, which owns a network of search and information Web sites, said Wednesday that it is seeking a replacement for CEO Naveen Jain. The Bellevue, Wash.-based company has retained recruitment firm Korn Ferry International to conduct a formal search and has formed an internal committee of Jain and InfoSpace directors Lewis Taffer and Richard Hearney.

Jain, InfoSpace's founder and chairman, took the reins as CEO in early 2001 after Arun Sarin briefly ran the company but left for family reasons. Since then, InfoSpace has been seeking a new chief and chairman, and the company has now "formalized the process," according to a representative, adding that InfoSpace is "looking for a possible talent that could help us build out the management."
